Aquahalogens Chemicals is one of the largest manufacturers of activated carbon in India. The company has been in existence for over 70+ years, a period that has seen major advances both in the theoretical aspects of adsorption and in the technology of activated carbon manufacture and application. The company was incorporated in 1960, & a manufacturing facility to produce 300mt/annum of activated carbon was set up in Amritsar (PUNJAB). Matching international standards conforming to USP; BP specifications, in this specialty chemical, demanded setting up research facilities & sophisticated process control systems. This was achieved through heavy financial investment & by recruitment of a dedicated technical team.
The rewards of the efforts were acknowledged through an ever-increasing demand for our product which necessitated continuous expansion to a present level of 2000 mt/annum of premium quality activated carbon. Through continuous research, Aqua halogens developed special carbons which were operational-friendly & markedly reduced dosage levels. Ours is the only company in India that has developed the process of reactivation of powdered and granular carbons. The company enjoys the privilege of catering to the requirements of all the multinationals in the pharmaceutical field where quality is only the yardstick for measuring credentials. Yet another feather in the cap is that Aqua halogens is one of the approved suppliers to Pepsi and Coca-Cola franchises for their water treatment & sugar syrup purification applications.
